Project Outreach

The project outreach team in association with MSc, PhD and Postdoctoral researchers in the area of plastic litter  came together under the auspices of GMIT and designed and delivered a number of workshops for children and teenagers. These workshops were well received  and delivered these during the Galway Science Festival which  incorporated Science week 2017.

The workshops worked through several themes to introduce the students to everything from the known area of ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ to bio-accumulation of microplastics in food chains, impacts to habitats and animals, plastic recycling numbers and what they mean to carrying out a number of role play scenarios.
